Meets requirements for CPR and First Aid in the workplace (OSHA Guideline 29 CFR 1910.151) and for United States Coast Guard First Aid training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 align=\"justify\">PADI <span style=\"font-family: Arial Black;\"> Project Aware<\/span> certification course<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>4 hours over 1 classroom session<\/li>\n<li>Includes the plight of worldwide aquatic ecosystems and how to protect them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 align=\"justify\">PADI <span style=\"font-family: Arial Black;\"> Coral Reef <\/span> certification course<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>4 hours over 1 classroom session<\/li>\n<li>Includes training on about the vital role of coral reefs in the marine environment and how to protect them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 align=\"justify\">PADI <span style=\"font-family: Arial Black;\"> Search and Recovery<\/span> certification course<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>24 hours over 5 classroom sessions<\/li>\n<li>Includes effective ways to find objects and people underwater and bring them to the surface. Also includes planning, organization, procedures, techniques potential problems, limited visibility, search patterns and safe object recovery using lift devices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 align=\"justify\">DAN <span style=\"font-family: Arial Black;\">Oxygen First Aid<\/span> certification course<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Entry level training designed to educate the general diving (and qualified non-diving) public in recognizing possible dive related injuries and providing emergency oxygen first aid while activating the local emergency medical services (EMS) and\/or arranging for evacuation to the nearest available medical facility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"yiv7693496847MsoNormal\"><b>PADI\u2019s new MERMAID \/ MERMAN certification courses<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"yiv7693496847MsoNormal\">Padi has begun Mermaid certification courses as of December 2020.\u00a0\u00a0The credential should help in your effort to be employed by parks \/ shows \/ restaurants \/ aquariums \/ pool parties \/ etc. wanting to hire actors \/ attractions for their tanks.\u00a0\u00a0If there is enough interest, I will teach a couple of classes beginning this summer.\u00a0\u00a0The class will include monofin swimming, entry \/ exit into the water in costume, breath hold diving, shopping for costumes and equipment.\u00a0\u00a0The PADI Mermaid program consists of four student level ratings.\n<ul>\n<li>PADI Discover Mermaid Experience\u00a0\u2013 no prerequisites<\/li>\n<li>PADI Basic Mermaid Course\u00a0\u2013 ability to swim at least 25m and float comfortably at the surface for at least 3 minutes<\/li>\n<li>PADI Mermaid Course\u00a0\u2013 ability to swim at least 50m and float comfortably on the surface for 5 minutes<\/li>\n<li>PADI Advanced Mermaid Course \u2013 ability to swim at least 100m and float comfortably on the surface for at least 10 minutes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The word \u201cmermaid\u201d in China roughly translates to \u201chuman fish\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0In many Asian cultures like China, Japan, South Korea &amp; Vietnam, the word \u201cmermaid\u2019 is not gender-specific and therefore, the words \u201cman\u201d or \u201cwoman\u201d need to be added to specify to a particular gender. The PADI Mermaid program is a stand-alone program like the PADI Freediver program, it doesn\u2019t require scuba or freediver instructor ratings as an underlying certification.\u00a0 <span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">Please let me know if you are interested.\u00a0\u00a0It will be fun.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 align=\"justify\">SCUBA <span style=\"font-family: Arial Black;\">Refresher course <\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Can be tailored to your needs and schedule.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please contact Lunarfins member, Bill Jones, for cost and the latest schedule if you are interested in any of the following courses.
